Sports

Basket Ball
While the popular game in the 30s was volleyball, the interest shifted in the late 40s to basketball. From the start the Association team grabbed most of the coveted trophies in the city and went on to become the unbeaten Bombay State champions for the successive years of 1949, 1950 and 1951. The Association had the unique distinction and honour of four out of five players including the captain being selected to represent Bombay State to contest the XIV All India Olympic Games held in 1950. Shri. K. S. K. Iyengar, Shri. Subba Rao contributed to the growth of the game.

Table Tennis
The Association conducted Annual open Table Tennis Tournaments since the 40’s for Shri. B. V. S. Iyengar Silver Trophy. Many well known players like Dilip Sampath, Sriram were crowned for the first time in these Tournaments.

Billards
The Billiards section owes its origins to the generosity of a non-Mysorean Shri. Nanji Premji Dersey, who gifted a Billards Table. The Association has instituted a silver cup in his memory. Shri. N.Subramanian, Shri. P.N. Rama Rao, Shri. Nagaraja Rao, Shri. L.D.Char, Shri. Satyanarayana, Shri. Nilkanth have contributed to the development of this game.

Sports has taken a backseat in the activity list of the Association in the last decade.
But new members are regularly taking advantage of the facilities. Hopefully, it will again regain the past glory soon.
