Education

One of the main objectives of the founding fathers was to engage in educating people at large. An elementary school was started in 1927 at the Association with only self-help.  Later a separate entity, National Kannada Education Society, solely devoted to education was formed in 1939 in co-operation with the Mumbai Kannada Sangha.

Today NKES educates 3000 underprivileged children from Dharavi, Antop Hill and Wadala right from kindergarten to the 10th standard in both Kannada and English media. It is our pride many students of the School are now assumed vital roles in nation building. Many students of NKES have risen to eminent positions in the country.

The efforts of Shri. R. D. Char, Smt. Vaidehi Char, Shri. Varadarajan, Shri. R. V. Murthy and B. Narayana Swamy in establishing the school and running it successfully for 4 decades are to be recorded for posterity.

The Mysore Association remains the patron of NKES and is always guiding it in its progress.
