Members of the Association have always been in the forefront of social service. Smt. Vaidehi Char & Smt. Shyamalamba’s commitment to education of the underprivileged is well recorded.
Tall among them, Smt. Usha Jairam, worked for the education of street children and to provide employment to destitute ladies. Her yeomen service at Latur after the earthquake, and tireless relief work during the 1993 communal violence in Dharavi, are still remembered. Bhavani Sundarraj, Poornima Krishna, Leela Rajkumar, Geetha Vishwanath, Lalita Doreswamy and many more are even today working for the cause underprivileged women. Association has over the years developed a binding tie with the All India Women’s Conference.
Association at the dawn of the new millennia, the Association was ably lead by Shri. S. Doreswamy and Smt. Leela Rajkumar. Today the Association’s torch is held high up by Shri. V. Ramabhadra and Shri. Narain Jagirdar.
This is the saga of an Association, which is built up on self-help and harmony.
